In 10 years the demand has changed: it comes more from public stakeholders and concerns more complex problems, problems that we do not know where to start \u00ab\u00a0<\/em>said Isabelle Verilhac (Director pole business &amp; innovation of the Cit\u00e9 du Design in opening the session LUPI<sup>2)<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The LUPI<sup>2 <\/sup>or the LUPI of the LUPI aims to co-construct with LUPI users and stakeholders of the LUPI COMMUNITY scenarios to foster visibility and dissemination of LUPI after more than forty LUPI and ten years of practice. On February 15, twenty participants of the Cit\u00e9 du Design gathered for a day to frame this issue.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A LUPI EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Civil servants did a LUPI because they trusted me, but they did not know what they were getting into! \u00ab\u00a0. <\/em>For Lucia Delsart (ex. Saint-Etienne M\u00e9tropole and now special adviser to the Director of the Cit\u00e9 du Design), like for all participants at the LUPI<sup>2<\/sup>\u2018s first day, <em>\u00ab\u00a0it\u2019s difficult to understand what a Laboratory of Uses and Innovative Practices is before having done one by yourself \u00ab\u00a0.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Showing results is not in off sufficient to realize the benefit provided by the LUPI: scenarios really speak to those who ordered them and can appreciate how finely they respond to the issue. In fact, as already noted in 2013, the feedback from the 5 companies that led the first LUPI, the benefit was not limited to increase the product portfolio but also to explore and renew the possible fields of innovation of the company or the sponsoring institution. It results as well, that it inspires people, encourages participants employees and pushes internal actors to side step, trying new postures of innovation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>AS AN ESCAPE GAME<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0When we present the LUPI, declared <\/em>Camille Vilain (Head of International Projects in the City), we tend to simplify to get to the point, but our risk is to be too reductive. \u00a0\u00bb Indeed, we observe that LUPI cannot be categorized, that is why people attempt to relate it to its own professional fields: \u00ab\u00a0a LUPI it&rsquo;s like a focus group consumer\u00a0\u00bb for marketing; \u00ab\u00a0This is a kind of internal audit\u00a0\u00bb for management and \u00ab\u00a0it is nothing less than a design approach\u00a0\u00bb for designers.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0To avoid these pitfalls, we must not disclose the process! \u00ab\u00a0. <\/em>Participants who had to present LUPI or to convince of their interests, advise not to say too much. For Lucia Delsart, \u00ab\u00a0<em>it is like an escape game, if we tell what it is, people are not going to come and spend the next collective experience<\/em>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0When we said from the beginning of LUPI that we will go to meet users, everyone finds it very attractive\u201d,<\/em>intervened Alexander Pennaneac&rsquo;h, \u201c<em>but when during the training they understand that it is themselves who will have to visit a user, we can feel a great emptiness &#8230;<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0. Pour Mika\u00ebl Mangyoku, Charg\u00e9 de mission \u00e0 la Cit\u00e9, <em>\u00ab\u00a0ce serait vraiment dommage que le LUPI<sup>2<\/sup>n\u2019arrive qu\u2019\u00e0 une publication-catalogue de tous les LUPI r\u00e9alis\u00e9s \u00e0 ce jour\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNE TRANSFORMATION A PLUSIEURS NIVEAUX<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pour Alexandre Pennaneac\u2019h, ex Coordonnateur projets innovation de la Cit\u00e9 et aujourd\u2019hui Directeur d\u2019ERASME, les LUPI agissent sur un triptyque : <em>\u00ab\u00a0ils transforment \u00e0 la fois les produits, l\u2019organisation et les personnes\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>La porte d\u2019entr\u00e9e reste pour la plupart des commanditaires la promesse de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer un bouquet de sc\u00e9narios originaux, d\u00e9cal\u00e9s et \u00e0 m\u00eame d\u2019inspirer de nouveaux produits ou services. Dans les faits comme le notait d\u00e9j\u00e0 en 2013 le retour d\u2019exp\u00e9rience des 5 entreprises ayant men\u00e9 les premiers LUPI, le b\u00e9n\u00e9fice ne se limite pas \u00e0 augmenter le portefeuille produits mais \u00e0 explorer et renouveler les champs d\u2019innovation possibles de l\u2019entreprise ou de l\u2019institution commanditaire et \u00e0 inspirer les personnes, inciter les employ\u00e9.e.s participants, les acteurs internes \u00e0 faire des pas de c\u00f4t\u00e9, \u00e0 s\u2019essayer dans de nouvelles postures d\u2019innovation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>COMME UN ESCAPE GAME<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Quand on pr\u00e9sente les LUPI, <\/em>d\u00e9clare Camille Vilain, Charg\u00e9e des projets internationaux \u00e0 la Cit\u00e9,<em>on a tendance \u00e0 simplifier pour aller \u00e0 l\u2019essentiel au risque en fait d\u2019\u00eatre r\u00e9ducteur\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>. Et les r\u00e9actions des interlocuteurs sont \u00e0 l\u2019avenant : chacun cherche \u00e0 rapporter l\u2019incasable LUPI \u00e0 ses propres cases professionnelles : \u00ab\u00a0un LUPI c\u2019est un peu comme un groupe de discussion consommateurs\u00a0\u00bb pour le marketing ; \u00ab\u00a0c\u2019est une sorte d\u2019audit interne\u00a0\u00bb pour le management et \u00ab\u00a0c\u2019est ni plus ni moins une d\u00e9marche de design\u00a0\u00bb pour les designers.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Pour \u00e9viter ces \u00e9cueils il ne faut pas d\u00e9voiler le processus !\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em>Les participants qui ont eu \u00e0 pr\u00e9senter les LUPI ou \u00e0 convaincre de leurs int\u00e9r\u00eats conseillent de ne pas trop en dire. Pour Lucie Delsart, <em>\u00ab\u00a0c\u2019est un peu comme un escape game, si on raconte en quoi \u00e7a consiste, les gens ne vont pas venir et passer du cot\u00e9 exp\u00e9rience collective\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Quand on dit depuis le d\u00e9but du LUPI que l\u2019on va aller rencontrer les usagers, tout le monde trouve cela tr\u00e8s bien,<\/em>rench\u00e9ri Alexandre Pennaneac\u2019h,<em>mais quand pendant la formation ils comprennent que c\u2019est bien eux qui vont devoir aller rendre visite \u00e0 un utilisateur, alors il y a comme un grand vide\u2026\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>.
