Public space is a commons: beyond air, water, energy… the way public space is organised, enabling inhabitants to get together, to socialise and to take action is key in the sustainable transition towards sustainability of our suffocating cities…
The 1st Human Cities Festival is the result of a European research projects between Brussels, Milan, Ljubljana and Glasgow organising local conferences, international competition, publications and events in the four cities.
Within the consortium of research, SDS was in charge of setting-up the travelling exhibition for the Festival that was installed, directly in the public space: temporary traffic signs to deviate the urban flows were used as display: a perfect metaphor for a public space under construction, an open exhibition offered to the attention of all inhabitants passing by…
